walk around the world
Let’s take a walk around the world
There’s so much to see
An imaginary walk
Come along with me
Look to the East, where the sun climbs high
Look to the West, see the painted sky
Let’s take a walk around the world
There’s so much to see
Look to the North, land of ice and snow
Look to the South where the palm trees grow
Let’s take a walk around the world
There’s so much to see
Through the forest, through the woodland trees
From rocky cliffs, feel the ocean breeze
Over fields on a grassy hill
Over a meadow so calm and still
Through a desert, over hot dry sand
Through the Outback, over rugged land
Let’s take a walk around the world
There’s so much to see
Up on a mountain, on a high plateau
On an island where watermelons grow
Into the jungle, monkeys in the trees
A flower garden filled with birds and bees
Let’s take a walk around the world
There’s so much to see

rhythm of the land
Come wave your hands
Let’s wave our hands
Let’s celebrate the rhythm of the land
Come wave your hands
Let’s wave our hands
Let’s celebrate the rhythm of the land
Can you feel the rhythm of your heart?
- (hands to heart)
From head to toe, hand to hand?
- (point to head, toes, hands)
Can you feel the rhythm of the universe?
- (reach to the sky)
Can you feel the rhythm of the land?
- (stretch out to the ground)
It’s a time to wave to a friend - (wave hands)
Every boy, every girl - (wave all around)
It’s a time to reach out to everyone
- (extend both hands)
All around the world - “oooaaahhh!”
O ba ba, o ba ba, o ba ba, o ba
It’s a time to turn to the light - (turn heads up)
It’s time to heal the pain - (cross arms over chest)
It’s a time to sing and dance
- (wave arms in the air)
And rejoice again!

like a flower to the sun
Like a flower to the sun
In the morning when the day has begun
Reaching for the radiant glow
Every living thing with such a longing to grow
Like a river to the sea
Flowing wild and flowing free
We are drawn to the magic song
That lifts us up and makes us strong
Like a moth towards the light
Like the day that surely follows the night
Like a bird that needs to fly
Everyone is reaching for the bright open sky
Like the winds across the plain
Like the ocean tides that come again and again
We’re ever turning ‘round and ‘round
On our journey to a higher ground
Like a mother to her child
With a soothing voice so tender and mild
With the smile her lips impart
Her love shines through and tugs at the heart
Hear the calling of the loon
Hear the lone wolf howling at the moon
Hear the pretty songbird sing
It’s the song of the earth filled with deep longing
Six billion flowers to the sun Reaching and yearning
And longing To be one

i work all day
My name is Bob, I love my job
I work all day just to make a little pay
I clean big windows from the roof to the ground
My right hand ‘wiper’ goes round and round!

My name is Pat, I’m a diplomat
I work all day just to make a little pay
I meet with people about this and that
My left hand waver goes pat pat pat!
- (hold up your left arm and wave your left hand up and down with a small wrist motion)
My name is Pete, I love my feet
I work all day just to make a little pay
I’m a cool jazz dancer in a Broadway Show
I can tap to the music, just like so!
- (tap your feet)
My name is Sue, I love what I do
I work all day just to make a little pay
Plant trees in the park, keep the flower beds neat
With my foot on the shovel, I dig down deep!
- (motions of digging with a shovel)
My name is Jill, I can’t sit still
I work all year as a volunteer
I teach aerobics in a fitness room
So shake your middle, go, boom-di-boom!
- (shake your middle)
My name is Greer, I love my career
I work all day just to get a little pay
I stare into computers till I take a break
Then I stretch my head and go, shake shake shake!
- (toss your head from side to side)
My name is Bing, I love to sing
With-a-bebop-a-lula, shing-a-ling! (repeat 4x)

boots & bandanas
We come with our accordions
Our tapestries and shawls
Carving our history on these plaster walls
Our ancestors to guide us
We celebrate the dead
From the dust on my feet
To the dreams in my head
Corn and beans and peppers
We cultivate the soil
With a hammer and God’s grace
We will sweat and toil
With our boots and bandanas
We’ll sing and be free
When we’re dancing the Fandango
All around the mango tree
There’s work across the river
For Kiko and me
El Norte glitters gold
From sea to shining sea
Rosalita in her rocker
A baby in her arms
With a song of the cicadas
And a chain of good-luck charms
There’s a full moon over Texas
A shooting star in the sky
An old coyote howls
Can you hear her lonesome cry?
These patio lanterns
Casting shadows all around
Another day in Paradise
We walk on sacred ground

listen
In this age of information
Flowing streams of communication
Hurry up or you’ll be left behind
Conversations with computers
Data banks, soft ware tutors
Fast forward, fast rewind
Listen to the wind in the trees
Listen to the waves on the shore
Listen to your heart beat
Hear yourself breathing
And don’t be afraid anymore
High performance to the letter
Making life a little better
Every day is still an uphill climb
Coping with the competition
You can’t change your disposition
You can take it one day at a time
Advertisers selling illusions
Adding to the state of confusion
They take your money and steal your time
Air wave signals grab your attention
Images full of pretension
They’ll sell the world for a dime
activities
earth dance
Listen to the rhythm - earth dance
Listen to the rhythm - earth dance
Bend your body forward
Bend your body forward
Lift one knee
Now the other knee
Stomp on the floor
Do it some more
Arms to the side
Hands open wide
Shake them loose
I said, shake them loose
Now hands on your hips
And a smile on your lips
Left shoulder forward
And right shoulder forward
Stretch up your arms
As high as you can
Picking oranges
Put them in the basket
Now who’s ready to jump in the middle?
Now who’s ready to dance alone?
Jump in the middle, there you go!
That’s fantastic! What a show!
Jump in the middle, jump in the middle
Listen to the rhythm - earth dance
Listen to the rhythm - earth dance
Listen to the rhythm - earth dance

lazy island melody
On a desert island
That's where I wanna be
Where the palm trees sway
Near a tranquil sea
The sun is warm and hazy
I'm feelin' kind of lazy
Under a coconut tree
And I can practice daily
On my ukelele
A lazy island melody
I hear that old cicada
Chirp a serenata
A toucan talkin' to a parakeet
It goes so very nice
With a little island spice
And a pink limonada so sweet
Walking barefoot in the sand
Pale and shovel in my hand
Gonna build a sand castle or two
Then with a tippy toe
Into the water I go
Splashing all the way
Up to my knees! ooooo
Music in the air
Island rhythms everywhere
And if nobody's looking at me
I'll take a little chance
Do a hoola hoopy dance
Goodness gracious, fiddle-dee-dee

daydream
It’s a soft summer day
It’s a soft summer day
And I’m feeling okay
In a wonderful day
It’s a day for a dream
What a day for a dream
Something cool and serene
Like blue into green
And it makes my heart dance
And it makes my heart sing
And it makes my heart laugh
With a joyful ring
Imagination flies
Like a kite on a string
It’s as sweet as ice cream
In my daydream
Feel the wind on my face
Catch the sun in my eye
With my feet in the sand
And my head held up high
I take a deep breath
I take a deep sigh
And I feel so at ease
Don’t ask me why
A familiar sound
A familiar face
What a feeling of joy
What a feeling of grace
Everything is so simple
Perfect harmony
Everything in my life
Is as it should be

the wind
Who’s that blowin’ blossom seeds in the air?
Who’s that blowin’ willow fluff in my hair?
The wind, the wind
The wind, the wind
Who’s that whisperin’ a sigh in my ear?
What’s that jingle sound of chimes that I hear?
The wind, the wind
The wind, the wind
Hear him singin’ ooooooooh
Who’s that blowin’ clouds across the blue sky?
Who’s that dancing with my kite way up high?
The wind, the wind
The wind, the wind
Who’s that rustlin’ through the leaves in the trees?
Who’s that tossin’ splashin’ waves on the seas?
The wind, the wind
The wind, the wind
Hear him singin’ ooooooooh
Who’s that turnin’ my toy pin-wheel around?
Who’s that blowin’ tumble weeds on the ground?
The wind, the wind
The wind, the wind

seeds for my garden
Planting seeds from row to row…. (echo response)
Come and see my garden grow….
Pray for sunshine, pray for rain….
Plants will spring to life again….
Seeds for my garden…seeds
Seeds for my garden…seeds
Take a shovel, take a hoe….
Take a rake, now here we go….
Dig some holes in the ground…..
Sow some seeds, round and round…
Oats peas beans and barley grow…..
Dancing ‘round from row to row…..
Cover up the magic seeds….
Don’t forget to pull the weeds….
Winter, Summer, Fall to Spring…..
Nature re-awakening….
All the little seeds we sow…..
Loving nature helps them grow….
Bring on the sun and the clouds and the rain
My garden will blossom to life again (repeat)
Seeds for my garden…seeds
Seeds for my garden…seeds
activities
1.Imagine you are a gardener, sowing some seeds. Reach deep into your imaginary bag and grab a handful of seeds to sow on the ground.
2.Listen to the seed pod shakers on the recording and imitate the rhythm
3.Create a mural of different kinds of plants and foods that grow in your imaginary garden
4.Echo Jack in each line and follow Cosima’s voice. For the words, “bring on the sun and the clouds and the rain, my garden will blossom to life again”, add some hand motions, like the ‘sun’ – big circle in the air; ‘clouds’ – slowly waving open palms in the air; ‘rain’ – wiggle fingers down to the ground; ‘garden will blossom’ – hands like flowers rising slowly in the air.

water cycle song
What's that way up high
Big storm clouds rolling by
Big storm clouds rolling by
They darken up the sky
Hear the thunder sound
As the rain comes falling down
The rain comes falling down
And splashes all over the ground
Ooooh... on and on
Singing the water cycle song (repeat)
Tiny drops of rain
Trickle down my window pane
Trickle down my window pane
Into sewers, pipes and drains
Little stream it grows
And into a river flows
Into the river flows
I wonder how far it goes
Water in the breeze
Vapour rising from the trees
Vapour rising from the trees
From the rain forest trees
Rising in the air
To make those clouds way up there
To make those clouds way up there
Until showers fall again somewhere

so long
So long
So long
It’s the end of the story
The end of the song
It’s the end of the play
The curtains are drawn
Time passes by
Though we linger on
Now the time has come
To say ‘so long’
It’s the end of the journey
The end of the trail
We’ll tie up the boats
We’ll pull down the sail
These happy moments
We shared today
Locked in our hearts
Where they will stay
(first verse again)
